Official end markings visible in this imagery are 3,735 feet apart, marking runway end “4” and runway end “22”. This is the existing
condition today.

Here you can see the official runway end markings; white parallel bars on the black runway surface.

  • The centerline of Solberg’s approved runway is a line between two points;  the point labeled “4” to the south and "22" to the north. These two endpoints are 3,735 feet apart.
  • The main runway is 50 feet wide and paved between the runway endpoints.
  • The areas beyond are turf and are referred to as “Displaced threshold” (see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Displaced_threshold)
You can measure the distance yourself using the "measure" tool in Google Maps (right-click then "Measure Distance") or Google Earth (Ctrl+Shift+M).

But Solberg Aviation will tell you its main runway is already 5,598 feet long! What?! Let's look again at that map!

...Their Master Plan calls for a 5,600 foot runway! Solberg claims this is not a runway expansion, and that they are simply proposing an “improvement” to an existing runway.
The yellow/orange line on the right is about 5600 feet long - see for yourself and decide: how dumb does Solberg Aviation think we all are?
